Phil's Comments
This a great show, especially the second set and especially if
you like a lot of the darker and spacier Grateful Dead.
I do not feel that this is an "above average" recording (with all due
respect), but it is a good one.
I brightened this up for a friend of a friend and I found it to be
a real nice show to listen to. - Phil Matera 1-25-2013

The crowd is noisy on this recording, some yuckapucks havin a blast i guess. . This show is high energy, and there are some clear attempts with the setlist to win the crowd over with some rwpeat moves from the 95 spring playbook. We get a killer opening pair with Stranger, Sugaree... very cool. Once again, i thjnk its the 3rd time we get the long 15min plus Sugaree, and we get the whammy effect too. Keeps sounding more polished and in control. Its a 6 song set, but still clocking in at the typical 50 min set... maybe a xouple minutes light but we get some real heavy hitters in this set. The Ramble on Rose is a highlight, rocking hard with the MIDIS out. Some will complain about the now dated effects but its hella rockin and the crowd is jumpin.
Every version of every song is solid!
Set 2 does that cool heavy drum solo intro to victim. This one is dramatic and cool, but i seem to remember an even better one coming in summer tour. But back to the aforementionedfor the 95 tour darling, Iko Iko. I think it's the 3rd one of these too, but this one is classy, chill, not too in ur face. Great version. The corrina->terrapin segue us a glorious moment. Jerry is really feeling good and into his playing , he dresses up the usual terrapin chord strum intro with lead. Truly, Jerry has been on it and not suffering from his usual malaise AT ALL... well, he does kind of do a number on the Lady w a Fan lyrics but hey, i botch the fugg out of them.
There's some other "easter eggs" like the midi and electric percussion durin iko, and the killer terrapin outro.
Enjoying drums now.
If I dont make it, its 4 stars for playng, maybe even 5 at ceetain points, and 4 for decent sou.d
Oh yeah, and i am LOVING these smooth Stellas with the faster up tempo intro. Another 95 highlight

Anyway, I would go again, and definitely will add this to my collection.

I reckon every hearty head was bummed that victim/slime inexplicably settled into coveted deep 2nd set slot I never really understood how that transpired, and hell Corina well I guess Bobby beat me down enough times that it became enjoyable. I won't whine or cry too much like you know like the deader than thou people. I'm forever grateful of the shows each and everyone and the friends met, deals made, the whole schbang. Good karma to you and all the G.D family near and far, continued sucess
